A very quiet day: we both got massages, then did laundry and hung out around the lodge here.
We were woken by the 7:30 breakfast bell, and pulled on some clothes to go feed. Today, like yesterday, it was porridge with brown sugar for me, plus some honeydew melon and strawberries. I downloaded some pictures off the new camera--I'm a bit disappointed in that it wants to fire the flash at almost every opportunity; this means that pictures of plants in the rain forest, or anywhere where there's a dark background, are often strangely lit. The color reproduction is incredible, though, as is the resolution. It's going to take a while to master all the buttons... it's fairly easy to make a small mistake and come out with under lit pictures.
The rest of the morning was taken up by massages and laundry. While Chris was having his massage, I went to look for George, the carpet python that hangs out on the terrace near the dining room. George wasn't on his usual log, and as it cool (about 17C) I figured he might've moved into the sun. But he wasn't to be found. I hung out our laundry instead.
Lunch came... we ate. I read some more. Chris took a nap. I went on one of the Binna Burra ranger walks, topic was 'bush tucker', and learned a bit more about bush foods, like the native grapes, ginger, and lime trees. I took down some clothes from the clothesline. We looked through 4WD magazines for stuff we'll need to get for our Cape York trip. We had tea. We read. We had (another) pleasant dinner, spending quite a bit of time afterwards just chatting with Judy and Neil about things--old computing technologies, seabed mapping for minerals, cheap places to stay in Europe, food around the world, and an intriguingly cheap French-government subsidized scheme for buying a Renault or Peugeot if you're a traveler.
And then we went to bed.
