Finally, we made it up to Garnet Lake, at 3100m elevation (the metric-only topo maps that the US Geologial Survey uses drove us nuts.)  Thats, uh, something like 10,400'.  I think.  I do know that Mt Ritter, the left mountain below, tops out at 4003m.  Why I remember this I do not know....
