Carnarvon Gorge National Park, Queensland

Today we did a 25km hike through Carnarvon Gorge, visiting sandstone slot canyons, Aboriginal art sties, and hidden pockets filled with ferns and waterfalls.  It was a great day!


Wildlife Sighting

A Blue Argus butterfly, Junonia orithya, at creek crossing 17 on the Carnarvon Gorge trail.  This is a male.

Curiously, this butterfly comes in two patterns: one is the dry season pattern, the other is the wet season pattern.
